This past weekend was the incredible opening of the Elizabeth Taylor Collection at Christie's. It was the unveiling of a true icon's legendary clothing, jewelry and storied gifts. The collection has been on tour since September {started in Moscow}, and is now here in New York until December 13th when it all will be auctioned off for charity.
I could not have been more excited a couple of months ago when I received this adorable invitation {cocktail ring inside the small box!!} in the mail for a tour of Elizabeth Taylor's collection followed by a luncheon for my wonderful friend Jennifer's engagement.
All 15 women met outside Christie's so we could view the collection as a group. The outside of the building had pictures of Elizabeth Taylor from various decades wearing her numerous diamonds.
The tour started off with a room of all of the jewelry boxes that held her iconic collection.

What I found to be the most interesting portion of the exhibit was the display of director's chairs. These were the chairs that Elizabeth Taylor sat in while producing the movies that transformed her into a legend.
We ended the day with a gorgeous luncheon thrown by a close friend of Jennifer's family at Brasserie Ruhlmann in Rockefeller Center.
The afternoon was filled with friends, fun and our love for Jennifer!
Each girl departed with flowers from the centerpieces and an engagement cookie. I felt so special to be apart of a unique afternoon. I highly encourage anyone in New York to buy a ticket to view the collection before it is sold starting December 13th. Tickets can be purchased online {link provided} and the viewing is a once in a lifetime experience.
Thank you Jennifer for sharing such an unusual experience with me! xx

So sad I can't go! Thanks for sharing the lovely photos! xx.
