No Onion Guacamole

I love guacamole...a lot. I love it with chips, on tacos, fajitas, with chicken, on an egg sandwich and with pretty much everything. Although I love guac, I hate it when it is packed full of onions. There is nothing more gross to me than having that raw onion taste in your mouth for hours after you eat it. So here is my easy guacamole recipe without onions!

Ingredients:

4 avocados
1 large tomato
2 limes
Parsley
Salt & Pepper

Step 1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Be sure to save 1 or 2 pits to throw into the guacamole as it helps prevent the avocados from browning. I find it easier to pre-slice the avocado with the shell still on {pictured above} and then scoop it into the mixing bowl.

Step 2. Once the avocados are sliced and in the mixing bowl with the pits, take a spoon and mash the chunks with the back of the spoon. The amount of "mashing" will depend on how smooth or chunky you want your guacamole. I tend to like mine more chunky so I don't take too long on this step.

Step 3. Chop the tomato and parsley and add to the avocado. The amount you use of both the tomato and parsley really depends on taste. You can add as much or as little of these ingredients as you prefer.

Step 4. Cut the 2 limes in half and squeeze the lime juice into the mixture. I really like my guacamole with a heavy lime taste so I definitely use both limes. Again, this is a taste preference.

And that's it! This recipe is quick to make and won't give you that raw onion taste. It is an instant crowd pleaser or perfect as a side with dinner at home. Bon appétit!

  1. I cannot stand raw onion taste EITHER! I love them cooked in stuff but oh ew... particularly red onions raw, it just ruins the rest of the day, not matter how much gum or mouthwash I get my hands on.

  2. Raw onion is mood-ruining, and it so often messes up great things like guac and salsa. Thanks for a recipe free off the yuckiness!

  3. Finally found someone who shares my hatred of raw onions. People usually just give me looks when I tell them I hate raw onion - enough that I don't want to touch or handle it. But in cooked form it, it is great.I will def try your recipe.
