Last month while my Mom was in town she mentioned how she wanted to visit the Warby Parker showroom in Soho. She had recently read a NY Times article about the brand that offers fashionable glasses for only 95 dollars including prescription lenses. I was immediately interested since I have worn glasses since the 3rd grade and my lenses alone cost more than four times the amount offered for lenses and frames.
The Soho loft was bright and open with plenty of Warby Parker employees to help you pick the right pair. I ran into a friend of mine, Jesse, who works for the company and she said how much of a hit the brand has been. She let me know that if you don't live in NYC you can order up to 5 pairs to try on at home so everyone can access great style and price. You can also upload a picture onto the website and have a virtual try on of the glasses.
I tried on multiple pairs {sunglasses and regular} and ended up selected the Preston in Sandalwood Matte. My Mom selected 2 pairs so she could have a variety. Since I have such a strong prescription my glasses were an additional $30 dollars {anything over -4.0}, but this was minimal compared to what I have paid in the past. We then ordered our glasses online at the showroom and were told that it would take about 10 business days for the order to arrive.
